The snow has decided to make its presence known.
It is not being subtle.
I went to bed with the snow hitting the ground;
awoke to even more snow.
Unrelenting and it has yet to cease.
Beautiful and serene;
the chaos that ensues contrasts its aesthetics.
Sitting by the fire and watching movie after movie,
I can't help but want to put on my
Fourth grade snow suit,
put on my woolen hat with pom-poms,
find my cozy mittens,
and march outside in my oversized snow boots;
With hopes to build a snow fort.
Or maybe make snow angels,
naming each one.
Then I'll march back inside,
Covered in snow- from head to toe.
I'll strip down to my clothes,
Wet from snow and sweat;
and awaiting me on the kitchen table
will be a cup of my favourite hot chocolate.
Marshmellows dancing on top of the chocolate lake,
Filling my tummy with warmth.
Going to bed,
the snow still falling,
I sleep and dream;
of my fourth grade self.

The snow inspired me to write this little poem/story. I don't know where it came from but it felt good to write. I hope you're all keeping warm and safe this snowy weekend.
